Youth killed in road mishap near Jamshedpur

Chakradharpur, May 5: A 35 year-old man, identified as Parshuram Purty, died in a road accident on the National Highway 75 near Keraikela here on Thursday, police said.

The mishap reportedly occurred in the morning when Purty, a resident of Ichahatu village under Hurangda panchayat of Bandgaon, was on his way through Bandgaon valley on a motorcycle. Near Bharandiya, Purty lost control over his bike while negotiating the last stretch of the valley and rammed into a tree. He sustained critical injuries while another youth accompanying him was also seriously injured in the incident. He died at the scene, sources said.

Later, the village head of Bharandiya informed Keraikela police about the incident and sought help for them. An ambulance was rushed to the scene by the police.
