Youth Cup: Tata Football Academy script fascinating 3-2 win over Sesa FA

Panjim/Jamshedpur, Sept. 23: Tata Football Academy marked the beginning of its campaign in Vedanta Youth Cup, Goa 2019 with a fascinating 3-2 win over Sesa Football Academy.

Sesa Football Academy tried to put up heavy pressure on Jamshedpur based side early on in the game by dominating in terms of possession.  Hosts event even took a lead in the 24th minute through forward Ben Johnson.

However, as the game progressed, Tata Football Academy began to gain a strong foothold and Gaurav provided them a much-needed equalizer in the 39th minute.

Soon after the commencement of the second half, Tata Football Academy looked to establish control on the game. Minutes after the hour mark, Anand helped his side take a lead after a defensive error by Sesa Football Academy.

TFA boys went on to score another one in the 68th minute as Jagoi lashed the ball into the back of the net, after a well-worked attacking move.

However, even after conceding two goals, Sesa FA refused to give up on the game as they put up some relentless pressure on the opponents. Some heated exchanges even resulted in Russel Vaz receiving a yellow card for deliberate tripping.

The home team�s efforts finally led them to a breakthrough in the 80th minute as Mark Gomes headed home following a set piece situation. Yet, the visitors managed to keep hold of their one-goal lead and emerged victorious at the full time whistle.

The Man of the Match trophy was awarded to Tata Football Academy�s midfielder, Chetan, from the hands of Brahmanand Sankhwalkar, former Indian National team skipper and Arjuna awardee.

Sesa Football Academy next face JSW Bengaluru FC on 25th September while Tata Football Academy will take on Reliance Foundation Young Champs the same day.
