Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum District Youth Congress Committee took out a candle march at Sakchi on Friday to protest recent incidents of rape against minors in Unnao (Uttar Pradesh) and Kathua (Jammu and Kashmir). Party leaders said women were not safe in today�s environment as incidence of crimes against the fairer sex had shown a sharp rise. They said the BJP government had failed to put an end to rapes and other crimes against women in the country. They demanded death sentence for the rapists and action against cops showing slackness in investigation.
Among those present on the occasion included Sanjeev Srivastava, Prince Singh, Rahul Goswami, Paritosh Singh, Rakesh Sahu, Ashish Mukhi and Aruna Mukhi.
