Jamshedpur, May 21: Congress workers on Sunday paid tributes to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 26th death anniversary at a programme organised by Jamshedpur Lok Sabha Yuva Congress committee at Shaheed Chowk in Sakchi.
On the occasion �Hum Mein Hai Rajiv� program was organised were senior congress leaders remembered the former Prime Minister by offering floral tributes to his portrait and pledged to walk on the path laid down by him.
Presiding over the programme, Rakesh Sahu, vice president of Jamshedpur Lok Sabha Yuva Congress committee, said, RSS and BJP are indulged in caste politics but Rajiv Gandhi was a leader driven by love, compassion and a deep generosity of heart. He had dreamt of a developed India which stands tall in the 21st century.
Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated on May 21, 1991, in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu. The late Prime Minister was campaigning in Tamil Nadu ahead of elections when he was assassinated.
Present on the occasion were Sonu Yadav, Surendra Sharma, Kamlesh Sao, Sharbeen Mukhi, Manoj Sao, Mukesh Yadav, Shrawan Sao, Upendra Yadav, Laxman Yadav, Ajay Sao and others.
