Jamshedpur, Nov 28: In a tragic incident on Thursday latest afternoon in Chandudih, under the Chowka police station area in adjoining Seraikela- Kharsawan , 21-year-old Rahul Mandal hanged himself inside his shop.

At the time, Rahul was alone, and the glass door of the shop was locked from the inside.
According to sources, before taking the extreme step, Rahul made a video call to his girlfriend, Tannu, a resident of Bagmundi in Purulia.
During the call, he reportedly tried to record the entire incident by tying his phone to the window.
Seeing this, Tannu panicked and disconnected the call. She tried calling Rahul several times afterward, but there was no response.
Realizing the gravity of the situation, she immediately informed Rahul’s friends and elder brother. His brother, who studies and resides in Ranchi, rushed to the site with other family members. They tried to open the shop door, but it was locked from inside. Peeking through, they saw Rahul’s body hanging.
Local residents alerted the Chowka police, who broke the glass door to enter. Rahul’s body was taken into custody and sent to Saraikela Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
Family members revealed that Rahul had been under mental stress due to a recent dispute with his girlfriend, which could be a possible reason behind the suicide.
Chowka police station in-charge, Sonu Kumar, said the case appears to be a suicide at first glance, and the investigation is ongoing to ascertain the exact cause.
