Jamshedpur : In a yet another case of suicide a 22-year-old youth committed suicide after losing in gambling at Baniapara locality under Chandil police station area in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district.
The deceased identified as Krishna Nag was found hanging in his room with the door bolted from inside.
Circle inspector O P Singh of Chandil police station said that the deceased who worked in a local transport company would play gambling and perhaps he took the drastic step after losing in the gambling.
He, however, failed to say exactly how much the deceased lost in the gambling and who were the people he was playing the money game.
The police recovered the body and sent it to the MGM Medical College mortuary for post-mortem. Incidentally, the spate of gambling is on the rise in the steel city also.
With the Diwali coming closure the people, especially in the urban slum areas and also in the city have become active in gambling.
Superintendent of police (city) Kartik S confirmed that the gambling is on the rise in the city, but at the same time claimed that the police have already started conducting raids on getting information about the gambling.
