Ranchi, July 24: The Jharkhand State Child Rights Protection Commission, chaired by Ujjwal Prakash Tiwari, held a critical meeting on Wednesday to address issues related to child protection. The session, conducted at the Collectorate, involved detailed discussions with concerned officials, resulting in several significant directives.
Among the key decisions, the Commission has mandated a ban on the entry of individuals below 21 years into bars and restaurants across the district. The Ranchi Assistant Commissioner of Excise has been instructed to enforce this rule strictly and report back on the actions taken.
In addition, the Commission has called for an awareness campaign to educate youth about the harmful effects of drug consumption. Ujjwal Prakash also directed the District Child Protection Officer to ensure that 108 ambulances are available 24/7 for emergency medical care of children at the district’s children’s home.
Further instructions include establishing a dedicated children’s home for disabled girls, as directed to the District Social Welfare Officer. The Labor Superintendent-02 has been asked to provide details of child labourers freed in the past year and information on compensation amounts.
The meeting was attended by various officials, including the District Social Welfare Officer, District Welfare Officer, District Child Protection Officer, Assistant Commissioner of Excise, Child Welfare Committee, and Labor Superintendent-2, among others.
