Youth assaulted with pistol butt in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, June 17: A youth was allegedly attacked with a pistol butt and robbed of his gold chain near Sonari Auto Stand under Kadma police station area on Tuesday, leaving him seriously injured.
The victim, identified as Kunal Kumar, a resident of Sakchi, lodged a written complaint with the police, following which an investigation was initiated.
According to Kunal, he was having tea with friends at a shop near Sonari Auto Stand when two youths, identified as Sakib and Rahul Tiwari, arrived at the spot and allegedly began abusing him without provocation. When he objected, the duo reportedly assaulted him.
Kunal alleged that during the attack, one of the accused struck him on the head with the butt of a pistol, causing a deep injury and heavy bleeding.
He further claimed that the other accused was brandishing a chopper and repeatedly threatened to kill him.
The violent incident triggered panic in the area, with bystanders fleeing the spot in fear. The victim also alleged that the attackers snatched a gold chain from his neck during the assault.
Kunal managed to escape and informed the police. Acting on the complaint, Kadma police registered the case and launched an investigation. Officers are examining CCTV footage from the area and conducting raids to trace the accused.
