Jamshedpur: A 23-year-old man, identified as Sohel Sheikh, committed suicide by hanging himself near Kela Bagan in Pardi, under the Mango police station area on Saturday.
Sohel, originally from Murshidabad, West Bengal, had been living and working in the Kela Bagan area of Mango for the past six months. Reports suggested he had recently married and got into an argument with his wife on Saturday, following which he hanged himself from a ceiling fan in his room.
The incident came to light when a neighbor entered the house and discovered his body. Local residents immediately informed the police. The Mango police reached the scene, recovered the body, and sent it to MGM Medical College Hospital for post-mortem. The body was handed over to the family on Sunday after completion of the post-mortem procedures.
Police were investigating the incident, which was initially believed to be a result of a family dispute. All aspects of the case were being thoroughly examined.
