Jamshedpur, August 26: Jusco MD Ashish Mathur on Wednesday addressing a workshop on “Basics of Building Materials and Construction”, emphasized on technical innovation in building materials.

He said that young engineers to come up with ideas to innovate in construction techniques, not to follow up the traditional methods only.

He also addressed the engineers to come-up with disrupting innovation. Mathur was present as the chief guest for the inaugural event at Institute of Engineers�(India) organized by IEI Jamshedpur Local Center in association with Tata Consulting Engineers Ltd.

The whole workshop was organized in 2 sessions. Dr. Virendra Kumar � Associate Professor, NIT, Jamshedpur delivered his lecture on Basics of Building Construction. He emphasized on factors affecting the concrete construction, maintaining quality of materials, quality of construction process, latest construction equipments and safety during construction.

Saikat Manna, Deputy General Manager – Architecture, Tata Consulting Engineers Ltd. focused on Improved and Alternative building materials. He explained varieties of materials being used in modern building constructions over and above conventional building materials.

He also explained method of choosing appropriate material as per functional requirement along with advantage and disadvantages of those materials.

He also insisted on use of recyclable and reusable materials in building industries to keep up sustainability and Green Practice.

He further emphasised that awareness of application of building materials improves the orientation of all discipline engineering towards form and aesthetics of the building which is a prime demand of the modern era.

Earlier the Programme started with lighting of the lamp.� Later on the proceedings started in the conference hall. Prof. Shalendra Kr. Executive Committee member of the Centre welcomed the chief guest and dignitaries and Dinesh Kr Prasad,�� Hony. Secretary of the centre ��introduced the Chief Guest and Speakers.� Mr. Prasad also informed the gathering that since past many years institution of engineers has been organizing this type of Workshop, Continuing Education Courses, Seminars, convention etc.

A large number of persons from Industrial Organizations, Educational Institutions and Government Organizations�� participated in the Workshop which was attended by �about 100 executive and officers from different organisation/institution.
