Shyam Mahotsav in Parsudih draws huge crowd

Jamshedpur, August 26: ‘Aaj mere baba ko kisne sajaya…’, ‘shyam naam ke hire moti…’, ‘Main bikhraun gali gali…’, ‘Tu dhyan laga shyam baba ka tera ghar khushiyo se bhar jayega’ and other songs swayed the audience to its tunes during 7th Shyam Mahotsav at Marwadi Society Colony in Parsudih on Wednesday.

On Ekadashi day of the holy month of sawan, the occasion was organized by the Shyam Bhakt Mandal of Parsudih. Well known singer and performer Prem Agarwal along with his dedicated team displayed items that compelled the audience to ask for more.

Bhajans & prayers dedicated to Shyam Baba, Rani Sati Dadi, Pitridevji Maharaj and Lord Balaji were put up on the evening.

Presentations by Pooja Jha and child artist Gagan Chabila were praise worthy. Devotees started to gather early in the evening to participate in the event.

The festival ritualizes a jagran in which devotees stay awake the whole night immersed in prayers of the lord. At about 6 pm in the evening, a prayer to the Lord marked the beginning of the programme.

Members Krishna Sharma and Shyam Sundar Sharma lighted the lamp. Then followed a Ganesh Vandana after which the cultural programme & bhajans began.

The key attraction of the event was ‘Nani bai ko mairo…’ a dance item presented by children received maximum applaud. Other dance events also charmed the evening.

Monica Sarkar wooed the audience with her nightingale voice. Devotees awed the decoration of the grand durbar, the delicacies and the sacred food cooked for the lord.

MLC Rajkumar Singh, officer incharge of Parsudih police station and senior Marwadi society member Madanlal Agarwal were the guests for the evening.

The trio offered prayer to the idol of lord Shyam and honoured his grace with a dupatta. As night fell in & the environment got gripped into the festive fervor, a huge crowd of devotees dressed in traditional Rajasthani attires flocked the place.

The event was made successful by committed efforts from Rajesh Agarwal, Rattan Agarwal, Manoj Agarwal, Akhilesh Agarwal, Sanjay Agarwal, Rohit Agarwal, Shiv Narayan Agarwal, Anurag Agarwal, Naveen Agarwal, Vinit Agarwal, Vijay and Shankar Agarwal.
