Yellow House crowned winner at DBMS Lilliput sports day

Jamshedpur, Feb. 6: The annual sports day of D. B. M. S. Lilliput School was held at the D. B. M. S. English School ground on Saturday.

Manoj Kumar, managing director, M/s. Jyoti Cero Rubber, was the chief guest on the occasion.

The day began with a march past that was led by Roshan Kumar, commander in-chief of the school, followed by the school captains and vice-captains, who led their respective houses.

The chief guest unfurled the school�s sports flag and declared the sports meet open. A drill display was put up jointly by the students of Std. III & IV of Sonari and Farm Area schools.

Students of Std I & II and Std. VI & VII of the B. H. Area school also put up a separate drill display. A large number of events were conducted in different categories on the day. Yellow House emerged as winner of the sports day.

The Individual champions for the year 2015-2016 included- Junior Level (Std. VI) Champion – Dhananjay Pal of Yellow House, Senior Level (Std. X) Badal Kar of Green House, Best March Past House was Yellow, and the Best Drill award was given to D.B.M.S. Lilliput School.

Altogether 15 track events and four drill display items were conducted apart from the Pre-Sports Day events. All the prize winners were given medals and sertificates by B. Chandrashekhar (joint chairperson, school committee), Lalitha Chandrashekhar (joint chairperson), Lakshmi Varadharajan (president), Srividya Narayan (secretary), Indu Modak (joint secretary), Hema Raghavan, secretary, DBMS English School, Dhanalakshmi Sridhar, president of the Dakshina Bharatha Mahila Samaj, Rajani Shekhar, principal, DBMS English School, Indu Gandhi, secretary of Lions Club, Ramesh Kumar, P. K. Banerjee, K. Raghavan and Hemant Kumar.
