Jamshedpur, May 4: Weather department issued yellow alert for several districts of Jharkhand on Wednesday.
According to department sources, Ranchi, Gumla, Khunti, Latehar and West Singhbhum may see rain accompanied by storm and lightning in some parts of the districts. At some places, winds may blow at a speed of 40 kilometre per hour. In Ranchi, the wind speed can reach up to 50 kilometre per hour.
Met officials said people should especially beware of lightning and should avoid taking shelter under trees and electric poles. Farmers should stay away from farms and should wait for the weather to become normal, they said.
According to department sources, weather would remain clement for the next one week. The maximum temperature of Jamshedpur would be 38 degree Celsius while minimum temperature would be 23 degrees, sources said.
