Yellow alert issued for Jharkhand: Thunderstorms and cooler temperatures expected

Jamshedpur, October 3: The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for the next three days in Jharkhand, warning of thunderstorms and lightning in several areas. According to the India Meteorological Department’s Ranchi center, four yellow alerts were issued on Thursday, October 3, marking the start of Navratri.

The first alert, issued at 9:28 AM, forecasted thunderstorms and rain in Pakur district. A second warning at 11:20 AM indicated a high likelihood of light rain and thunderstorms in Sahibganj and Godda districts.

Another alert at 12:17 PM pointed to potential thunderstorms and rain in Dumka district, while a final alert at 3:54 PM forecasted rain with thunder in Jamtara and Latehar districts within the next few hours.

No significant changes in the maximum temperature are expected over the next two days, but a gradual decrease is predicted thereafter, alongside cooler mornings and nights as minimum temperatures rise.

From October 4, Ranchi is expected to experience a partial cloud cover with the possibility of rain and thunderstorms on October 5. The maximum temperature is likely to drop from 31°C to 29°C by October 7, with minimum temperatures ranging between 22°C and 23°C.
