Jamshedpur : Budding managers of XLRI, Jamshedpur have come in rescue of Aashiyana Anganwadi, based at CH Area in Sonari to make it a better place to grow and learn the basics in life.
When we first saw the building, it was in complete disarray. The structure was dilapidated and needed immediate repair work. There was electric wiring strewn all over the place which posed a safety hazard for the children there. The paint had worn off and the school bore a dark, dingy look. This was definitely not a place for children to grow up, said Anshita Agarwal.
During the course of two months the students collected funds to provide these kids with better infrastructure.
In total, we raised 25,000/- which was used for the repair work. We also conducted a sanitation drive, by distributing soaps and hand washes. We also showed them an educational video to sensitize them on sanitation issues. We provided them with a toy shelf and distributed gifts on Children’s Day, said Anshita Agarwal with a glee.
