XLRI Jamshedpur to provide HR training to 500 Coal India employees

Jamshedpur, March 24: Xavier School of Management (XLRI) signed a memorandum of understanding with Coal India Ltd. (CIL) recently to strengthen the academia-industry interface and relationship between the two esteemed institutions. Fr. Paul Fernandes, director of XLRI and Vinay Ranjan, director (P&IR) of Coal India Ltd. signed this MoU.

As a part of the MoU, XLRI will offer a customised training program on human resource management to the CIL officers in order to help them hone their leadership and management skills. Around 500 executives nominated by Coal India’s HRD Department will be a part of this programme which will be hosted at the XLRI Jamshedpur campus in different phases. The first cohort of this corporate training programme will begin in April 2022.

“As a thought-leader in HR, XLRI accepts requests from organizations for conducting customised training programmes for their executives at different levels, and offers unique programmes to suit the business and developmental needs of client organisations. I am happy to have joined hands with CIL and we will work together on building a strong academia-industry interface”, said the director.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Prof. Ashish K Pani, dean – academics, XLRI said, “Getting employees exposed to relevant and consistent training will help companies improve their performance and increase results in the workspace. This program will help in skill enhancement and drive better results.”

This event was attended by Prof. AK Pani, dean, academics, Prof. M Srimannarayana, associate dean corporate & VIL programs, Prof. Anita Sarkar, Program Director for this Program, SK Tiwary, head, Corporate Programs from XLRI, and Dr. R K Dash, HoD (HRD) from Coal India Ltd.
