XLRI Jamshedpur launches three online post-graduate programs

Jamshedpur, July 26:XLRI, Jamshedpur inaugurated three masters’ level programmes in online mode in line with the new education policy framework on Tuesday virtually. The programmes are Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM), Post Graduate Diploma in Finance (PGDF) and Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM). Each programme will commence with a one week Immersion Programme at XLRI Campus, Jamshedpur followed by another week of campus visit in the second year.

The event was attended by Fr. Paul Fernandes SJ, director, XLRI, Fr. Donald D’Silva S.J., Dean – Administration & Finance, Prof. AK Pani, Dean – Academics; Prof. Sanjay Patro Chairperson of XOL Programmes , all other staff and faculty members of XLRI. The virtual inauguration ceremony also witnessed active participation from the 110 students of the first batch of the XOL Programmes  – PGDBM with 60 students, PGDHRM with 26 students and PGDF with 22 students respectively. 

The crowd was then addressed by Fr. Paul, who said, “Congratulations on taking a new step and joining XLRI learning programmes . With the advanced technology and accessibility to online platforms, we can reach out to one another, connect and share ideas with our community. Together we can help each other grow in a good spirit and we will help you in every step of your journey at XLRI. We will nurture you to develop yourself as a thinker, as a contributor, as a change agent and as globally responsible leaders. We look forward to a value based transformation and a great learning experience.”

In totality, around 8000+ applications were received for the XLRI Online Learning Programmes  out of which 3000+ applications were shortlisted and only 110 students got their seats in the program. Great conscious decisions have been made to select the best candidates and help them be the next great future leaders. XLRI is always known for Magis & Excellence. XLRI is one of the oldest institutions in the country to look at executives as leaders of the future and help them contribute to the growth.

Prof. Sanjay Patro, Chairperson of the XLRI-XOL Programmes  addressed the students and said, “The online post graduate diploma programmes  aim at bridging the gap between the aspirations of the participants and the requirements from qualified professionals; suitable for the industry. You will get involved in both synchronous and asynchronous learning and will get an opportunity to learn from the best experienced XLRI faculty as well as industry experts and peers over an interactive online platform.”

All the 110 new students were then given a chance to introduce themselves in 20 seconds each. This enabled the participants to know and understand each other. The program then ended with an introduction of the Program Directors of each online program – PGDHRM, PGDBM & PGDF.
