Jamshedpur, November 12: XLRI Jamshedpur emerged as a focal point of consulting innovation with the successful conclusion of FULCRUM 2024 on November 9th. Themed “Consulting for Tomorrow – Driving Innovation, Sustainability, and Resilience in a Rapidly Changing World,” this year’s event attracted industry leaders and academics who explored critical trends shaping the future of consulting. The event was organized by the XLRI PGDM (GM) Kautilya Consulting Club, with Deep Dinda, Himanshi, Madhumeta Rajkumar, Preeti Rawat, Rohit Sharma, and Sridip Mishra among the dedicated student coordinators.
FULCRUM 2024 showcased a series of thought-provoking panel discussions, where experts delved into pressing issues and transformative approaches in consulting. These discussions underscored the integration of enduring business values with innovative, sustainable solutions essential for addressing contemporary business challenges.

The first panel, “Sustainable Consulting: Catalyzing Long-Term Growth through Purpose and Profit,” featured insights from Ritika Mathur (Grant Thornton), Joy Prakash Somani (Infosys Consulting), Shubhabrata Roy (Behavioural Insights Architecture & Strategy), and Maheshan Kuttikkariyil (IBM Consulting). They emphasized the evolving definition of sustainability in consulting, extending beyond environmental concerns to include social and economic dimensions. The panellists discussed strategies for embedding sustainability within corporate culture, thus driving responsible decision-making.
In the second panel, “Global Leadership and Capability Evolution,” experts like Sanjoy Banerjee (PwC), Mohammed Faraz Khan (Zinnov), Ritesh Kumar S (BDO), and Param Puneet Singh (Accenture) examined the transformation of Global Capability Centers (GCCs). They highlighted the shift from financial arbitrage to talent arbitrage, marking GCCs as crucial drivers of innovation and strategic growth within global businesses.
The third panel, “Consulting Reimagined: New Approaches for Solving 21st Century Business Problems,” brought together industry voices such as Varun Saddi (Protiviti), Vik Bahl (Korn Ferry), Hamsini Shivakumar (Leapfrog Strategy), Roopank Chaudhary (Aon), and Deb Majumder (IBM). The panellists advocated for an interdisciplinary approach, emphasizing the need for consultants to leverage AI and digital tools while navigating complex industry landscapes to deliver tailored solutions.
The event concluded with a discussion on “Harnessing the Power of Digital Transformation for Strategic Advantage,” where Vipin Gupta (EY), Jai Dev Rajak (Accenture), Prashanth Prabhakara (KPMG), Kingshuk Ray (IBM), and Saket Mehra (Grant Thornton) underscored the importance of balancing technology with strategic insight to foster comprehensive stakeholder value.
