Jamshedpur, Nov 12: Loyola School, Telco, hosted its Annual English Elocution Contest, a highly anticipated event that celebrates the artistry of speech, the elegance of language and the courage of young voices. Students from classes 4 to 9 took to the stage, demonstrating remarkable poise, clarity and command over a diverse array of themes, as they vied for top honors before an audience captivated by their performance.
Principal Charanjeet Ohson and School Administrator Father Gerry D’ Souza whose support and encouragement added to the day’s significance, were present on the occasion. The panel of judges included Father Gautam, Reshma Rodrigues and Zeenat Maria Sundi.
Classes 4and 5 mesmerized the audience with storytelling, bringing popular tales to life through vivid expressions and lively narration. Class 6 delighted the crowd with humorous poems, skillfully balancing comedic timing with expressive delivery. Class 7 delivered inspiring speeches on famous personalities, offering a glimpse into the lives and legacies of influential figures that had shaped history. Class 8 channeled historic speeches in the declamation category, delivering powerful orations that stirred emotion and conviction. Class 9 participants showcased their quick thinking and composure in extempore speaking, tackling spontaneous topics with clarity and confidence.
Father Gautam praised the participants for their courage in stepping onto the stage , while Reshma Rodrigues and Zeenat Maria Sundi highlighted the value of elocution in building self- confidence ,critical thinking and ability to inspire others.
The winners in various segments included: Story telling ( Class 4)
1st– Vidhi Palsania, 2nd– Aishani Chourasia and 3rd– Varshit Nayak;
Story telling ( Class 5) 1st– Arnav Bose, 2nd– Aastha Kumari and 3rd– Dhruv Srivastava;
Humorous Poems (Class 6 ) 1st– Srijaya Thakur, 2nd– Aadya Das and 3rd– Asmi Agarwal;
Speech on Famous Personality ( Class 7) 1st– Diksha Diti, 2nd– Nav Kumar and 3rd– Shubham Ghoshal;
Declamation (Class 8) 1st– Aditya Raj Sinha, 2nd– S. Sanchita and 3rd– Sandhya Kumari;
Extempore (Class 9) 1st– Nirja Tewary, 2nd– Harshita and 3rd– Shriyanshi Dwivedi and Nishit Rai.
Principal Charanjeet Ohson commended the winners and participants, encouraging them to continue honing their communication skills as a tool for life long success.
