XLRI to host ‘National Industrial Relations Conference’ in January

Jamshedpur : XLRI (Xavier School of Management) will host the ‘6th National Industrial Relations
Conference’ on January 11 and 12, 2014 at XLRI Campus.

The conference is to witness some of the most thought provoking topics and issues related to ‘The changing workforce and transforming IR Scenario’ of today.

The two days conference aims to shed light on some of the most pertinent aspects of Management in an era of Globalization and the changing expectations and aspirations of the workforce of today.

Organised by [email protected], the students committee at XLRI which deals with matters related to Industrial Relations, shall witness some of the biggest names from arenas as diverse as Industry, academics and advocacy like K. Ramkumar- executive director on the Board of ICICI Bank, Prasenjit Bose- a leading columnist and social activist, E. A. Ramaswamy-a former professor in the Delhi University and an expert in labour and trade union, Karthik Shekhar- general secretary of UNITES Professionals and other dignitaries who will share a common forum and voice their views and opinions on issues that plague the Industrial relations of India.

Pranabesh Ray, Dean, commented on the occasion, “It is heartening to see the youth pick up these issues of Industrial Relations and begin questioning the current thought leaders to spread awareness about the topic of the changing workforce of today.

It is a highly commendable effort by our students to bring together some of the most experienced
people in the field of IR together.

[email protected] Team of XLRI is one of the few committees across B-Schools of the country that focuses entirely on promotion of Industrial Relations.

The committee plays an active role in organizing events which act as a source of promotion for Industrial relations.

Apart from organizing several intra-college and inter-college events, the committee also organizes a National Industrial Relations Conference which sees participation from the some of the biggest names in the world of IR. XLRI is a premier, private management institute in India founded in 1949 by Fr Quinn Enright, S.J. in the Steel city of Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.

Over the last six decades, XLRI has helped shape responsible business leaders who serve organizations of repute across the globe.
