World Tribal Day to be observed in Jamshedpur on August 9

Jamshedpur, Aug 7: Adivasi Chhatra Ekta will organize a modest y awareness-driven event on the occasion of World Tribal Day at Regal Ground, Bistupur, on August 9. The announcement was made at a press conference held at Nirmal Guest House on Thursday.

The event will begin with a tribute to Dishom Guru Shibu Soren, recognizing his pivotal role in the Jharkhand movement and tribal identity. Since 2007, the organization has observed the day to promote awareness of tribal rights and culture.

This year, speakers will address pressing issues such as the Sarna Religious Code, PESA Act, NEP 2020, Land Acquisition Act 2013, Land Bank Policy, CNT and SPT Acts and the Wilkinson Rule.

The organizers also announced prayers for the speedy recovery of Jharkhand Education Minister Ramdas Soren.
“Our goal is to foster awareness and dialogue among tribal students on constitutional and social rights,” said one of the organizers.

Several intellectuals and youth leaders including Indra Hembram, Hemendra Hansda, Harimohan Tudu and others will be speaking at the event.
