Jamshedpur, April 28: Over 400 students from Gulmohur High School, Hill Top School, Vidya Bharti Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Little Flower School, Shiksha Niketan School, and Vivek Vidyalaya participated in a workshop on Artificial Intelligence (AI) held at the Tata Auditorium, Gulmohur High School.
The guest speaker for the event was the distinguished Professor Surjya K. Pal, a leading expert in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur. Professor Pal, a true pioneer in his field, boasts hundreds of published research papers, holds multiple patents, and has even authored a textbook on Digital Twins! His achievements have been recognized by the prestigious Indian National Academy of Engineering with a coveted fellowship.
The workshop, titled ‘Artificial Intelligence – Awareness and Potential,’ aimed to ignite curiosity and spark discussions about the rapidly evolving field of AI among young minds. Professor Pal’s engaging presentation explored various intriguing concepts, including Human vs Machine Sensors, Automated vs Autonomous Machines, MIT’s Mind Reading Wearables, Brain Computer Interface, Measurement of Human Consciousness and Limitations of AI.
Professor Pal’s explanations and delivery style kept the audience enthralled for the entire 90-minute session. The workshop concluded with a lively Q&A session, where students eagerly asked questions and gained valuable insights from the renowned professor.
This initiative aimed to provide Gulmohur High School students with the opportunity to work on real-world AI projects under Professor Pal’s mentorship.
The school extended its gratitude to the Gulmohur High School managing committee, especially Chairman Rakesh Sarangi and Secretary Monojit Chakravorty, for their tireless efforts in connecting the school with such a distinguished guest.
