Women’s Congress burns PM’s effigy against LPG price hike

Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum District Women’s Congress Committee members burnt the effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Sakchi roundabout on Saturday to protest hike in the price of LPG cylinders.

Criticizing the Central government, the protestors said the hike in LPG price had put an extra burden on the common man. They said the demonetization and GST decisions taken by the Central government had already harassed the people a lot. Now the frequent rise in the price of LPG cylinders was further causing problem to the people, said the protestors.

Among those present during the protest programme included Gayatri Das, Paritosh Singh, Nalini Sinha, Rakesh Sahu, Surendra Sharma, Sanjay Singh, Maya Singh, Sunita Singh and Sunaina Devi.
