Jamshedpur, October 13:A patient died on Friday due to 108 ambulances not arriving on time at MGM Hospital.
Despite the complaint, the management did not take any action. When 108 ambulance service was not available on time, a girl and a woman, who were being treated at MGM Hospital, died.
The 18-year-old Khushboo Bhagat, a resident of Bhuinyadih Kalyannagar, had attempted suicide by consuming pesticide. When her health deteriorated after the incident, family members admitted her to MGM Hospital. When the condition worsened, she was referred to RIMS . The family dialed number 108 in the morning itself for an ambulance. The family kept dialing number 108 till 12 noon but finally Khushboo died.
In another incident 46-year-old Aarti Devi, a resident of Patmada, was admitted to MGM Hospital by her family for treatment on Thursday.
When her condition worsened, it was advised to take her to RIMS from the hospital. The family dialed number 108 for an ambulance. At first the reply was that the ambulance would soon reach the hospital but after a long delay, the family members again dialed 108 but this time the person who picked up the phone did not speak. In the end Aarti also died. Angry family members have complained about the matter to the superintendent of the hospital.
