Jamshedpur: Sanitation workers threaten strike in Tata Steel UISL areas

Jamshedpur, October 13: Workers of MS Enterprises, the contract company doing sanitation work for Tata Steel UISL, have announced to stop work in the city and go on strike.

The workers have accused the company of arbitrariness. On Friday, workers under the leadership of JMM leader Shyamal Sarkar demonstrated against the contract company and expressed anger over their various demands.

The protestors had reached the Deputy Labor Commissioner’s office for talks, but no one from the company management reached.

Sarkar said that more than 100 sanitation workers work under the said company. They were not being paid bonuses and leave money.

The workers had also complained that safety kit was also not provided to them.. Tripartite talks were also to be held on Friday, but neither Tata Steel UISL nor anyone from the contract company reached the spot. Due to this the workers became angry and announced to go on strike from Saturday.
