Jamshedpur, Dec 26: A woman identified as Anita Devi, a resident of Garabasa under Bagbera thana has fled after duping several women self-help groups of their money in Bagbera on the pretext of granting them loan.
Women self help group members are searching for the woman in Rahargora and Parsudih area but are yet to trace her as the mobile phone is also switched off.
On Friday, a Jugsalai-based woman , Rabia Begum lodged a complaint at Jugsalai thana in which it is stated that Anita Devi used to promise women self help group members of granting them loan through Bharat Finance Company and Saiza Finance. Those who had taken loans through the woman used to pay the monthly instalment at her residence in Bagbera. Nearly 22 women had taken loan through her. However, later the company told them that their monthly instalment is not being deposited since the last six months.
However, before they could reach her she had escaped from her house leaving it locked.
