Jamshedpur, April 21: A woman, identified as Shabina Khatun, was arrested with 88 packets of brown sugar and Rs 3100 cash from Muslim Basti in Adityapur on Thursday, sources said.
According to Alok Kumar Dubey, officer in-charge of Adityapur police station, “We had got a tip-off about several people being involved in the trade of brown sugar in Muslim Basti. A team was set up to conduct raid at the den of drug sellers. On seeing police, all the accused ran away, save for Shabina Khatun who was arrested. We recovered brown sugar and cash from her possession.”
Dubey said the campaign against illegal drugs would continue in the coming days.
