Jamshedpur, Dec 2: Newly elected MLA of Jamshedpur West, Saryu Roy, has vowed to continue his work for public welfare, regardless of opposition from Tata Steel and the administration. Addressing a large gathering during his felicitation ceremony at Goswami Bajrang Bali Temple, Kadma, he assured the people of his commitment to eradicating fear, corruption, and terror from the area.
Roy emphasized that those who were once fearful during the elections have now started coming forward confidently, highlighting the shift in public sentiment. He stressed the importance of eliminating criminal gangs, corruption, and wrongdoings in Jamshedpur West, particularly in Kadma. “Many illegal activities, like the closure of KD flat’s gate and the removal of the statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, took place with indirect support from Tata Steel and the administration. It is my duty to correct these wrongs,” he said.
He expressed his determination to act against those responsible for such activities, including the uprooting of paver blocks and unauthorized withdrawal of funds. “I will do every work in the interest of the public, even if it is opposed by the administration or Tata Steel,” Roy asserted.
Saryu Roy also promised to prioritize civic amenities such as drinking water, electricity, sanitation, and roads in Jamshedpur West. “We aim to provide these essential services at the rates fixed by the government,” he said. Reflecting on the challenges he faced during the elections, he noted that certain police officials and Tata Steel had indirectly supported the wrongdoings in the region. Roy also accused certain police personnel of harassing his supporters and working against him during the election process.
In his address, Roy made it clear that his focus would be on good governance and the elimination of corruption. He emphasized that his approach would be the same for both East and West Jamshedpur. “Supporting good work and opposing wrongdoing will be my policy in both areas,” he stated. He also assured that any unimplemented government directives from the last five years would be enforced to ensure that Jamshedpur West is run according to the rules and laws.
