Jamshedpur: National Science Day was celebrated with enthusiasm at DBMS College of Education under the aegis of the Science Club. The event was organised to commemorate the discovery of the “Raman Effect” by renowned physicist Sir C.V. Raman.
The programme began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by a series of informative and cultural activities for B.Ed. students. A special documentary highlighting Dr. Raman’s life, struggles and scientific achievements was screened. Students also presented science-based poems. Raja and Tanishka recited Hindi poems emphasising the importance of science, while Rashmi and Arundhati presented English poems on the same theme.

The highlight of the celebration was a science play titled “When Google Becomes Guru,” which depicted the relationship between technology and education in modern times. A science exhibition and group dance performances added to the vibrancy of the event.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Joohi Samarpita said that science is an integral part of everyday life and encouraged future teachers to promote scientific thinking among students. Vice Principal Dr. Monica Uppal spoke about the vital role of information technology in building a developed India.
The programme was conducted by Amrita and Manpreet, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Pratyaksha. Assistant Professors Neha Bharti and Amrita Chaudhary contributed significantly to the successful organisation of the event. College Secretary Sripriya Dharmarajan, Assistant Secretary Sudha Dilip, faculty members and students were present on the occasion.
