Jamshedpur: A distress message on Whatsapp sent to the Principal District and Sessions Judge of Jamshedpur Manoj Prasad saved a minor girl from getting married in Chandil.
Sources said a minor girl, Tara Kumari, had sent a message to National Legal Service Authority requesting the officials concerned to help stop her illegal marriage. The message was sent to the District Judge through Whatsapp. The girl said she was about to get married in Asanbani (Seraikela-Kharsawan) against her wish. The baraat was about to come from Mahadevpur.
Soon after getting the message, the District Judge intimated DLSA officials of Jamshedpur and Seraikela-Kharsawan. Chandil police was informed in time. Police and DLSA teams reached Mahadevpur in Sini and stopped the baraat just in time, sources said.
