Wayfarers nab snatcher at Sakchi roundabout

Victim had withdrawn cash from bank

Jamshedpur, Dec 9: Gausnagar resident Rukhsana had withdrawn Rs 5,000 from the Sakchi branch of State Bank of India and was moving towards the auto stand near Sarkar Building in the vicinity of the Sakchi roundabout when a snatcher grabbed the money and ran towards the Baridih autorickshaw stand nearby. It was 2:30 pm and the road was busy with commuters.  They had seen the occurrence of snatching and gave the criminal a chase. A young man in the crowd, Pappu chased the criminal and pushed him. The criminal fell down and the people who had collected there roughed him up. The money was recovered from his possession. The snatcher was later handed over to the Sakchi police. On enquiry, the man identified himself as Rajkumar and said that he was a resident of Kasidih. The police are interrogating him.
