Water levels of Jamshedpur’s Kharkai and Swarnarekha rivers stable

Jamshedpur: The water levels of the Kharkai and Swarnarekha rivers are currently stable, with a noticeable decline being recorded. Recent measurements indicate that both rivers are flowing below their respective danger levels, providing some relief to the residents of the adjoining areas. Danger Level: 121.50 meters, Present Level: 116.30 meters (at Mango Bridge Site)

The Swarnarekha River, which has been closely monitored due to recent heavy rains, is showing a falling trend. The current water level stands at 116.30 meters at the Mango Bridge site, comfortably below the danger level of 121.50 meters. Authorities continue to observe the river closely to ensure the safety of the nearby communities.

Kharkai River: Danger Level: 129.00 meters, Present Level: 126.23 meters (at Adityapur Bridge Site) Similarly, the Kharkai River’s water level is also on a decline. At the Adityapur Bridge site, the river is currently at 126.23 meters, below the danger threshold of 129.00 meters. The steady decrease in the water level has been a source of reassurance for the residents in the surrounding areas, who have been vigilant following recent weather patterns.

Local authorities have been on high alert, monitoring the water levels round the clock. The declining trend in both rivers’ water levels is a positive sign, but officials remain cautious, keeping emergency measures in place.
