W. Singhbhum SP holds meeting with Manki-Munda representatives

Chaibasa, May 13: West Singhbhum district superintendent of police Dr Micheal Raj presided over a meeting of Chaibasa �Police Samudayik Policing Manki � Munda Mahasabha� at Pillai Hall here on Friday.

Addressing the Manki and Munda representatives on the occasion, the SP said, �Manki-Munda is doing the same job as we do. The difference between you and us is uniform. Manki- Munda works at village level for the well being of village.�

Dr Raj added that Manki-Munda must render a pious duty to eradicate alcohol consumption among the Adivasi people. �If you are able to do this job, the Munda Samaj would develop like anything.�

He also drew their attention to the May 14 Jharkhand bandh called by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) against the state government�s domicile policy and urged them to cooperate with the administration.

The SP also warned that the administration will not tolerate any illegal activity during the bandh and all law breakers would be dealt with severely.

Meanwhile, the Mankis and Mundas jointly submitted a 10-point memorandum to the SP demanding implement for the betterment of Manki-Munda of Kolhan. The present among other were DSP, additional SP and a large number of Manki- Munda.
