82 lakh voters in 8963 booths to elect MPs

Ranchi, May 24: Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar has said that all 8963 booths of four parliamentary constituencies of the sixth phase in the country and the third phase in Jharkhand will be monitored through web casting from the control room.

The District Election Officers will perform the responsibility from his control room.

Four-D cameras are installed inside and outside every booth. Basic facilities have been provided at all the booths. He told that polling personnel have reached all the booths. Para military force has been deployed at all the booths.

K Ravi Kumar said that the Election Commission will also monitor the voting speed with the help of web casting and polling personnel will be directed as per the need. Polling personnel have been trained for speedy voting, so that voters do not have to wait long in the queue to vote. He appealed and said that everyone should participate enthusiastically in the election festival along with their families and vote and should inspire their neighbors and acquaintances for the same.

K Ravi Kumar said that there are 82,16,506 voters in the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024, more than all the other phases. In this, the maximum number of 22,85,237 voters are in Dhanbad parliamentary constituency, while the least number of 18,64,660 voters are in Giridih parliamentary constituency.

Out of total 8963 booths, women will handle the arrangements at 186 booths and youth at 22. There are 15 unique booths, which have been specially developed. There are a total of 290 third gender voters in the sixth phase of elections.

Among them, 133 third gender voters will vote in Jamshedpur, 80 in Dhanbad, 69 in Ranchi and 8 in Giridih.

K Ravi Kumar has asked every organization to give paid leave as per rules to its employees on polling day, May 25, and motivate them to vote. He said that institutions providing essential services should also provide voting facilities to their employees.
