Ranchi, May 24: Jharkhand bureaucrat Manish Ranjan did not reach the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office for questioning.
He has sent a letter through an employee, in which he has given the reason for not coming to the ED office.
However, it is not yet clear what reason he has given in the letter for not attending the inquiry. Anil Kumar, the employee who arrived with Manish Ranjan’s letter, said that he does not know what is in the letter.
Incidentally, ED officials want to interrogate him in the case of commission embezzlement during tender in rural development department.
On May 22, a notice was sent to him asking him to appear for questioning at the regional office of the central investigating agency on May 24 at 11 am.
In the notice, ED had asked Manish Ranjan to come with details of his and his family’s income and other assets. But, Manish Ranjan did not appear for questioning.
