Voter list revision campaign starts in Jharkhand, new voters to be added

Ranchi, June 25: Preparations have started for the assembly election in Jharkhand.

As per the instructions of the Election Commission, the voter list revision campaign has started from Tuesday. Which will run till 24th July. Under this, new voters will be added.

 State Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar gave many guidelines in a review meeting with the district election officers a few days ago.

In view of the assembly elections, a special campaign will run on 27th and 28th July. Under this, a campaign will be run on different days to make people above 85 years of age, disabled, and those living in shelter homes voters.

The voter list revision campaign is a way to add new voters. Under this, BLOs will go door-to-door for verification. Apart from this, youths who have completed 18 years of age, considering July 1 as the eligibility date, will also be added to the voter list. At the same time, the work of reorganizing the polling stations and removing the discrepancies in the voter list will be done. During this time, if anyone wants to apply to improve or change the quality of the photo, they can also do so. During the campaign, the names of duplicate and dead people are also to be removed from the voter list.

As per the instructions of the Election Commission, the integrated draft voter list will be published on 25th July. After this, the work of resolving objections and claims will begin. Final publication of voter list will be on 20th August. On the other hand, a campaign will be launched for the registration of third gender and sex workers on 2nd August.
