Jamshedpur, Dec. 4: Social organisation Voice of Humanity has started the noble work of providing blankets to homeless who are compelled to sleep in the open despite the winter chill. The India Meteorological Department predicted that winter this year will likely be colder. Keeping this mind, the organisation members visited various places around the city from 11 pm to 2 am in the night and provided blankets to elderly, kids and others. Members visited Railway Station, Bistupur, Saatchi, Agrico, Golmuri, Burmamines, Bagbera, Kadma and Sonari areas. Founder of Voice of Humanity Hari Singh Rajput informed that the campaign is being run since the last five years so that we can spread warmth among homeless, daily wage workers and those who have lost their homes to calamities. And if the cold weather wasn’t enough, they have Covid19 to battle with everyday.
A hot meal or a warm blanket cost nothing to most of us, but can be lifesavers for thousands living on the streets, with no roof above their head, he added.
Present on the occasion were Sandeep, Suraj, Chandan, Gagandeep, Rishabh, Rounak, Saket and others.
