Jamshedpur, December 15: DAV Public School, Bistupur, Jamshedpur, celebrated its Annual Sports Day 2025 on December 15 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, under the guidance of ARO cum Principal Pragya Singh. The event featured 46 athletic competitions, engaging students across all age groups in track and field and other sporting activities.
The day was graced by Padma Shri awardee and international archer Purnima Mahato as the Chief Guest. The celebrations began with the DAV Gaan, followed by a welcome song and the hoisting of the Sports Flag. Winners of the events were awarded on the spot in a prize distribution ceremony.
Students from Nursery to Std II presented a spectacular drill display, showcasing discipline, coordination, and creativity, while older students participated in a wide range of events tailored to different categories, encouraging full participation and healthy competition.
Addressing the students, Purnima Mahato emphasised the importance of sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork, highlighting how these qualities contribute to holistic development and character building.

Principal Pragya Singh expressed her gratitude to parents, staff, and students for their cooperation in making the event a success. She encouraged students to strive for excellence, surpass personal limits, and celebrate determination and passion alongside achievement.
The track and field events witnessed intense competition, with athletes displaying energy, skill, and perseverance.
At the end of the day, Vivekanand House emerged as the Overall Champion, winning the Boys’ category trophy and securing First Runners-Up in the Girls’ category, reflecting their consistent performance and teamwork throughout the sports meet. The event concluded on a celebratory note, fostering enthusiasm for sports and holistic growth among the students.
