Visually impaired Atul Sahay joins Lions Clubs International

Jamshedpur : Atul Ranjan Sahay, a visually impaired person joined as a member of Lions Club of Jamshedpur Tatanagar. Membership of Lions Club of Atul Ranjan Sahay for his Lions Club was sponsored by Rajnish Kumar, Second Vice District Governor(Elect) which was readily agreed by the Club Board. He joined the club with two other new members Vijay Kumar Singh and a lady Nutan Gupta. Sahay is a senior manager at Tata Steel.

Atul Ranjany Sahay is the first visually challenged person to join Lions fraternity probably in whole of Eastern India. His joining will strengthen the hands of Lions in taking forward their work on disability management in more meaningful way with his experience and involvement. He was inducted into the Lions Family during the Installation Ceremony of Lions Club of Jamshedpur Tatanagar after completion of all formalities, last Saturday.

He was the Vice President (East) for National Association of Blind, President of All India Chess Federation for the Blind, World Cricket Council for the Blind, International Council for the Education of the Visually Impaired.

He is currently heading the Jharkhand Unit of National Association of Blind and has done innovative work in making visually challenged person accessibility to computer application. He has been acknowledged with Role Model Award from Retina India, Shell Helen Keller Award and NIVH (National Institute for the Visually Handicapped) Excellence Award.
