Violent clash near Jamshedpur School, video goes viral

Jamshedpur, Aug 19: A video of a violent clash near Kalgidhar School under Golmuri police station went viral on Tuesday, prompting police action. The video, filmed late Sunday night, showed groups of youths attacking a man with sticks and fists.

Police investigations revealed that the brawl was between two rival groups. Based on complaints, two separate FIRs were registered. The first was filed by Soni Chaubey, a resident near Atal Clinic, who alleged that around 9:20 PM she and her associates were attacked with intent to kill. The second was lodged by Neha Kaur of KD Plate, Cable Town, alleging that a group arrived in a car, abused her and assaulted her around 10 PM. She named Avtar, Arif, Shera Singh, Jagge Singh, Akash Vania and the car driver as accused.

Police are now examining CCTV footage and eyewitness accounts. The station in-charge said, “We have registered both FIRs and identified suspects. Legal action will be taken once roles are confirmed. Extra vigil is being maintained to prevent further escalation.”

The incident has left the area tense, but authorities say the situation is under control.
