Seraikela, May 21: In order to encroach on the land of Jaherthan in Ukri village located in Sini, the work of making a pit for the foundation has been started which led to protest from villagers on Sunday.
The villagers organized a gram sabha in Ukri village. In which the villagers told that some anti-social elements have violated the traditional Gram Sabha norms by doing unconstitutional work by constructing in Gairmajrua government land under the fifth schedule area without the permission of the Gram Sabha that too in Jaherthan.
Trees and plants were damaged by encroachment of the religious place of the village and construction work has been started by showing fake documents, due to which the villagers are facing obstacles in going to Jaherthan. The villagers have started protesting regarding the matter.
The villagers say that Jaherathan (Gram Dharma), a centuries-old orthodox tradition, is a place of great faith given by the ancestors. It will not be allowed to be encroached under any circumstances. In order to make the above land encroachment free, Gram Sabha Ukri Mouza will inform about the investigation of the land by handing over the application to the Circle Officer on Monday, demanding proper prompt action against the accused.
