Dehradun: In a breakthrough, the Uttarakhand Police and STF have solved the murder case of notorious Jamshedpur gangster Vikram Sharma. Following a joint operation, two suspects have been apprehended, while a manhunt is underway for six others who remain at large.
The murder took place on February 13 at the Silver City Mall in the Dalanwala area, where unidentified gunmen shot Sharma dead.
Investigation & Breakthrough
Following the incident, police utilized CCTV footage and technical surveillance to track the killers. The investigation revealed:
- Three assailants arrived on a motorcycle.
- After the murder, they switched vehicles in the Sahastradhara area and fled toward Haridwar.
- The trail led investigators across Jharkhand and Greater Noida, eventually resulting in the first two arrests.
The Motive: Rivalry and Dominance
During interrogation, the suspects confessed that the killing was the result of a long-standing criminal rivalry and a struggle for territorial dominance. The plot had been in the works for a significant period, with the accused setting up hideouts across multiple states to evade detection.
Arrested Suspects
- Akshat Thakur alias Sanjeev Kumar: Resident of Jugsalai, Jamshedpur.
- Rajkumar: Resident of Bagbera, Jamshedpur.
Wanted Suspects (Reward: ₹25,000 each)
The police have announced a bounty of ₹25,000 for information leading to the arrest of the following absconding individuals, all residents of the Jamshedpur region:
- Ankit Verma (Tangra)
- Ashutosh Singh
- Vishal Singh (Bagbera)
- Akash Kumar Prasad (Bagbera)
- Yashraj
- Jitendra Kumar Sahu (East Singhbhum)
