Jaduguda, Jan 29: Vikram Kesari Das officially assumed charge as the new Finance Director of Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL) on Thursday, succeeding outgoing director Sharda Bhushan Mahanti via video conferencing. Mahanti, who held an additional charge, will now serve as CMD at IRL’s Mumbai branch.
Das’s appointment has sparked optimism regarding the acceleration of UCIL’s nuclear energy projects, including the proposed Rohil Uranium Project in Rajasthan. With extensive experience in nuclear energy finance, having served as General Manager (Finance) in NLC India Limited, expectations are high for enhanced financial operations and project execution.
Welcoming Das, UCIL’s Accounts Department Head T.K. Mukherjee presented him with a bouquet. Several officials, including Jaduguda Group of Mines agent Manoranjan Mahali, Company Secretary B.C. Gupta, and others, extended their congratulations.
Before assuming office, Das visited the renowned Rankini Temple in Jaduguda, seeking blessings for the company’s prosperity.
Das was selected for the role on September 11 and officially joined after receiving approval from the President of India. His leadership is anticipated to bring fresh momentum to UCIL’s expansion efforts.
