Jamshedpur, March 14: Team Strangers XI beat Challengers XI by 2 wickets to win the first match T20 cricket tourney organized by Vijaya Gardens Society, Baridih at Keenan Stadium on Sunday, March 13. Teams named Challengers XI led by Prashant won the toss & decided to bat first.
Challengers XI scored 122 all out in 18.4 overs were Kuldeep Singh scored 14 runs, V Satish 17, Arvind Kr Singh 13, Vikrant Singh 11, Vivek Srivastava 11 and Vivek Chawda scored 10 runs. Extras runs given were 41. From Strangers XI Avinash Kumar and Mukesh Kumar took 2 wickets each giving away 5 and 9 runs.
Ritesh kumar, Rakesh Srivastava, Vipin Verma and Sumant Mendiratta took a wicket each giving away 13, 15, 13 and 13 runs.
In reply Strangers XI led by Ashish Gode scored 124 for 8 in 18.3 overs and won the match by 2 wickets with 9 balls to spare. Alok Bajpayee scored 13 runs, Gaurav Rode 12, Sumant Mendiratta 23 and Ashish Gode 22.Extras runs given were 35.
From Challengers XI. Vivek Chawda, Kuldeep Singh, Prashant, Vikrant Singh, Nityanand Mondal, Rohit Khemani and Arup Pal took a wicket each giving away 19, 15, 4, 4, 18, 13 and 13 runs. Umpires for the first match were Animesh Mukherjee and Krishna while scorer was A K Ganguly. Almost 34 families of Vijaya Gardens joined the event and enjoyed the day at Keenan Stadium.
Vijaya Gardens Society has decided to conduct three-match series match in a year. First match was played on 13th March 2016 (Sunday), 2nd match will be held in May 2016.
