Noamundi, July 24: Veteran social activist Chhedi Lal Gupta, a resident of Noamundi, passed away at the age of 77 years due to brain stroke in Noida Vedanta Hospital on Saturday.
His body was brought to Noamundi on Sunday. His only son Arun Kumar Gupta alias Papu Gupta is a renowned iron ore businessman. Chhedi Lal Gupta was also a chairman of Padmawati Jain Sarswati Shishu Mandir.
He was sick for quite some time.
People of Noamundi were shocked at the sudden demise of Chhedi Lal Gupta.
A large number of people joined the funeral ceremony of Chhedi Lal Gupta at Noamundi on Sunday.
