Chaibasa: The Veer Bal Diwas function was celebrated today at Madhav Sabhagar, Padmavati Jain Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir in Chaibasa, organized by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) West Singhbhum District Unit. The event was dedicated to honoring the valour and sacrifice of Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh, Sahibzaads of Guru Govind Singh. The function was inaugurated by former BJP State President Dr. Dineshanand Goswami, who lit a lamp and offered flowers in front of the picture of the immortal martyrs. In his speech, Dr. Goswami spoke about the unmatched bravery of Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh, emphasizing that their sacrifices for the protection of the country and religion would continue to inspire future generations. He expressed his appreciation for the central government’s decision to observe Veer Bal Diwas on 26 December, the martyrdom day of the two Sahibzaads, stating that it had inspired the youth. Dr. Goswami also criticized the Congress-led governments for not including the accurate history of the country in school curricula, particularly regarding the freedom movement. He urged the youth to play an essential role in making India a strong and developed nation.
In addition to the speeches, the program included a painting competition centred around the theme of Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh. The competition was divided into two groups: Group A for students of Classes 4, 5, and 6, and Group B for students of Classes 7, 8, and 9. In Group A, the first prize was awarded to Alisha Champiya from Class 4, the second prize to Kartik Kumar from Class 5A, and the third prize to Nitesh Kumar from Class 6B. Ananya Singh received the consolation prize. In Group B, the first prize went to Disha Kesari from Class 8A, the second prize to Shanti Saloni Chaki from Class 9A, and the third prize to Sunaina Kumari from Class 8B. Sandhya Hembram from Class 7B received the consolation prize. The event was attended by several prominent leaders, including District President Sanjay Pandey, State Spokesperson JV Tuvid, BJYM District President Chandramohan Tiu, and Principal Arvind Acharya. The function was conducted by BJYM District General Secretary Pratap Katiyar, and the painting competition saw active participation from over 100 students. The event successfully highlighted the importance of Veer Bal Diwas while engaging the youth in creative activities to honor the legacy of the Sahibzaads.
