Kharagpur: Spring Fest, the renowned cultural festival of the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, is all set to celebrate its 66th edition from January 24-26, 2025. With over 2 million online followers, it ranks as one of Asia’s largest student-run cultural fests. Participants from more than 800 colleges across India flock to Kharagpur for this exciting three-day event.
This year, Spring Fest kicked off with the nationwide preliminary round, “HitchHike,” which took place in ten cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Visakhapatnam, Lucknow, Jaipur, and Chandigarh. The event showcased a variety of artistic competitions, including Dance, Drama, Music, Fashion, and Literary events. Following this success, the fest is preparing for eliminations in six additional cities: Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Patna, Ranchi, Guwahati, and Raipur.
One of the major attractions of Spring Fest is the “Battle of Bands,” where rock bands from across India compete for a prize pool of INR 1.5 lakhs. The competition will be held in Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata, and Shillong.
With over 130 competitions in 13 categories and a total prize money of INR 35 lakhs, Spring Fest is a platform for India’s brightest talents. Previous years have seen legendary performances from artists like Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan, and King, with international acts like Dead by April and Tesseract. This year’s Spring Fest promises to be another unforgettable experience for participants and attendees alike.
