Jamshedpur: Vedanta Limited has prepared a comprehensive master plan to revive and strengthen the cable industry, particularly the Incab Industries. According to information received from the Dubai Group, Vedanta will not only restart operations at the plant but will also introduce advanced global collaboration with signature international cable technology partners.
Under the blueprint, the facility will go beyond traditional cable manufacturing. High-capacity transformers, advanced switchgear, and high-voltage cables will also be produced to strengthen India’s power infrastructure. The expansion is expected to generate employment for thousands of local residents through large-scale cable and power projects.
Special Cable Supply for Jamshedpur Industrial Sector
As part of the master plan, Vedanta has announced the supply of specialized cables for the industrial sector of Jamshedpur. A key highlight of the project is that aluminium rods will be supplied directly from Vedanta’s own plant, significantly reducing production costs. The initiative will see the installation of modern and next-generation technologies to enhance efficiency and output.
Fully Automated Plant, Global Tenders Soon
To transform the unit into a fully automated manufacturing facility, outdated machinery will be removed and replaced with state-of-the-art technology. The company is preparing to issue global and mechanical sector tenders soon as part of its modernization drive. This project is expected to open new employment opportunities not only for thousands of local youth and technical professionals but also for former employees of the company.
Jamshedpur to Shine on Global Industrial Map
Welcoming the initiative, Ram Vilas Singh, General Secretary of the Indian Cable Workers Union, said that Incab Industries will once again establish Jamshedpur on the global industrial map. He added that the investment will significantly strengthen the Make in India campaign by boosting domestic manufacturing and employment.
The ambitious master plan positions Vedanta as a key player in India’s industrial growth while reinforcing Jamshedpur’s legacy as a major manufacturing hub.
