Vande Bharat Express to soon connect Patna and Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, July 8: The Chakradharpur Railway Division of the South East Railway Zone is gearing up to launch the Vande Bharat Express service between Tatanagar and Patna. While an official announcement is awaited from the Railway Board, preparations for this new service are progressing rapidly.

Currently, the route is served by three main trains: the Ara-Durg South Bihar Express and Tata-Buxar Express operate daily, while the Bilaspur-Patna Express runs weekly. These trains typically take between 10 to 11 hours to cover the 496 km distance between Patna and Tatanagar.

It is reported that the Vande Bharat Express will significantly reduce travel time to just 7 hours, nearly halving the duration compared to conventional trains on this route. This new service aims to offer passengers faster and more comfortable travel options. To support the Vande Bharat Express, a maintenance center is swiftly being constructed on the sick line at Tatanagar Railway, with ongoing efforts including track repairs, traction facilities, and other necessary preparations by various departments.

The introduction of Vande Bharat Express is expected to bring substantial relief to passengers by enhancing travel efficiency and comfort.
