Jamshedpur, Aug 17: A Van Raksha Bandhan program was organized on Sunday at Agrico Ground under the banner of Sanyukt Rashtra Chetna and Naresh Mohan Seva Sansthan. The event, chaired by Ashish Jha and Ajit Kumar, aimed to spread awareness about environmental protection and tree conservation.
The program began with traditional songs and tree worship, followed by participants tying Van Raksha Sutra (protective threads) on trees as a pledge to safeguard them. Addressing the gathering, Nakul Kumar said, “Protecting trees is our ultimate duty. Forests give us fresh air, water, and biodiversity. Planting and protecting trees will ensure a safe and healthy life for all through a balanced environment.”
Known as the “Festival of Trees,” the initiative emphasized planting saplings and raising awareness. A week-long campaign has been planned, including a tree plantation drive at various locations, special awareness sessions in schools and colleges, and free distribution of saplings of fruit trees, medicinal plants, and shade trees. Citizens have been urged to actively participate and support the cause.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashish Jha said, “Save trees, get a healthy life. Planting trees and protecting them is our resolution.” The organizers highlighted that those who once served the nation are now committed to protecting the environment with equal dedication.
Key contributors included Ashish Jha, Nakul Kumar, Ajit Kumar, Veeru, Varun Kumar, Paramhans Yadav, and Dheeraj Kumar Singh.
